Celebrating Home Giving Back

Celebrating Home has a long history of giving back to their communities through a variety of charitable programs that include both the Designers and customers in the sales field as well as from the company and employees at the corporate office.

American Cancer Society:  From 2001 through 2008, our primary corporate charity partner was the American Cancer Society.  Over this period of time, the company donated over $1,000,000 in cash donations and in-kind products to help towards a variety of programs and incentives sponsored by the American Cancer Society.  These programs ranged from breast cancer research and children’s cancer camps to assistance for patients impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and colorectal cancer education and awareness.  As we concluded our partnership with the American Cancer Society in 2008, our final gift was to sponsor a room in the Hope Lodge that is being built in Memphis, TN.  The ACS is building Hope Lodges in many major cities around the country that offer free housing for cancer patients and their families when it becomes necessary for them to be away from their homes while they receive their radiation and chemotherapy treatments and other medical situations.  The idea of a Hope Lodge is just that…a haven of hope for a cancer patient and their family so that they can be close to their medical facilities during these extended stays and not have to worry about where they will stay or how they will pay for it.  Celebrating Home is proud to have donated over $50,000 to the Hope Lodge in Memphis for this wonderful cause.

The Hope Lodge in Memphis is located in the downtown area of Memphis near the hospitals and treatment centers of the University of Tennessee – Memphis and is also next door to the historic Sun Studios of Memphis.

Make-A-Wish Foundation: In June of 2008 Celebrating Home began a new partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was voted on overwhelmingly by the sales field as the new corporate charity for the company. Since this program started we have been selling an exclusive candle that features a wonderful cranberry apple scent. We affectionately call this candle our ‘Joy’ candle because of the joy that we know is received by the children as they are selected and awarded their wish. The company donated $4.00 from each candle sold for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through July of 2009. From mid-June 2008 through July of 2009 our Designers and customers have sold over $47,000 of these beautiful candles and the company has donated over $188,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We will be continuing our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as we move into the Fall selling season and beyond. From July 2009 through April 20, 2010 we will donate $3 for every candle sold and the program will include Hostess Benefits and Bonus Buy qualifications. We have a minimum donation of $50,000 with a goal of $200,000 during this period. One unique concept with the Make-A-Wish candle is that the monies donated are returned to the local chapters of Make-A-Wish based on the area where they were sold. You can be confident that your gift is coming back to your local area to help children in your region see their wishes granted.
